Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Hushero app and this website. By using Hushero you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
If anything here is unclear, write to support@hushero.com and we will explain it.
Who we are. Hushero is operated by HUSHERO PTY LTD (ACN 697 628 612), an Australian company with its registered office in Bondi Beach, New South Wales 2026, Australia. In this document “we”, “us” and “Hushero” mean that company and the service it provides.
1. Who can use Hushero
Hushero is for a parent or legal guardian to use with their child. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
The account belongs to the adult. Children do not have their own accounts, and everything about a child is entered by their parent. By adding a child you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and that you consent to us handling their information as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What Hushero does
Hushero writes a personalised bedtime story for your child, in parts, across several nights, together with a check in, stars, streaks and rewards. You read the story aloud. There is no narrator and no recorded audio.
We may add, change or remove features over time. If a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you before it takes effect.
3. Your data and your account
If you use the free plan without signing in, your household is tied to the device you are using. There is no email address on the account, which means that if you lose the device, reset it or delete the app, we have no way to identify you and your stories cannot be recovered. This is a deliberate trade so that families who never subscribe never have to hand over contact details, but you should understand it.
Signing in with Apple attaches your household to your Apple ID, which is what makes it recoverable. Subscribing requires signing in for exactly this reason.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Hushero has a free plan with limits, and paid plans that remove them.
Prices in Australia are 2.99 dollars per week, 8.99 dollars per month, or 79.99 dollars per year, in Australian dollars, including GST. Prices in other countries are set by Apple in local currency and are shown in the app before you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your card details. You manage, change or cancel your subscription in your device’s own settings, not in Hushero, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you subscribe through a future Android version, Google Play Billing will handle payment on the same basis.
5. Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policy, and we cannot issue them ourselves. Apple’s process is at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. See section 10.
6. The stories
Stories are written by an AI at the moment you ask for them. That means every story is new, and it also means we cannot review each one before you see it.
We have built a great deal of care into how they are written, and we test them continuously, but we cannot promise that every story will be perfect, factually correct or exactly to your taste. If one is not right, use Report this story in the reader. We read every report.
Hushero is a bedtime ritual, not a medical device, a sleep therapy or a substitute for professional advice about your child’s sleep, health or development.
Stories written for your family are yours to read, keep and enjoy privately. We ask that you do not republish them commercially or present them as your own work for sale.
7. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use Hushero for anyone other than a child in your care.
- Try to make the app produce content that is unsuitable for a child.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Use the service to do anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, or that puts children at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.
8. Ending your use
You can stop at any time. To remove everything, open Settings, pass the parent check and choose Delete all data, or email support@hushero.com and ask us. Deleting your data does not by itself cancel a subscription, which you cancel through Apple.
If you simply stop using Hushero, we delete your household automatically after 24 months of no activity, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Availability
We work to keep Hushero running every night, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted. Story writing depends on services we do not control, and occasionally a story will fail to generate. When that happens the app will tell you rather than pretend otherwise.
10. Our responsibility to you
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees, or any equivalent rights you have under the law where you live.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, our total liability to you for any claim connected with Hushero is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, to the extent the law permits us to say so.
11. Privacy
How we handle your family’s information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Hushero after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the courts of that state, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
